Roles and Responsibilities

• Design high-converting thumbnails for long-form YouTube videos (30–60 minutes) across multiple channels.
• Create thumbnails optimized for CTR, curiosity, emotion, and scroll-stopping impact, especially for US & Tier-1 audiences.
• Work closely with Video Creators (VCs), Content Writers (CWs), and Team Leads (TLs) to understand video intent, hooks, and positioning.
• Translate video concepts into clear, bold, emotionally compelling visual narratives within a single frame.
• Ensure thumbnails align with YouTube best practices (clarity at small sizes, contrast, minimal text, focal subject).
• Maintain visual consistency and brand identity across channels while adapting styles per niche.
• Design thumbnails that support A/B testing strategies (multiple variants when required).
• Optimize typography, color psychology, facial expressions, object placement, and negative space for maximum impact.
• Review performance data (CTR, impressions) in coordination with the TL and iterate on thumbnail styles accordingly.
• Stay updated with global YouTube thumbnail trends, competitor analysis, and evolving design patterns.
• Maintain a structured thumbnail asset library (PSD/AI/source files + exports) for reuse and scalability.
• Ensure daily delivery discipline — all thumbnails ready well before publishing deadlines.
• Collaborate with Channel Managers to ensure correct thumbnail mapping and upload accuracy.

Desired Candidate Profile

3+ years of professional experience as a Graphic Designer, preferably with strong exposure to YouTube thumbnails or digital media.

• Proven ability to design high-CTR thumbnails for long-form YouTube content.
• Expert-level proficiency in Photoshop (mandatory); Illustrator/Figma is a plus.
• Strong understanding of YouTube psychology: curiosity gaps, emotional triggers, contrast, and simplicity.
• Excellent command over typography, color theory, composition, and visual hierarchy.
• Ability to work fast without compromising quality in a high-output environment.
• Comfortable receiving performance-based feedback and iterating designs quickly.
• Familiarity with multiple niches (storytelling, documentaries, finance, tech, health, history, etc.) is a strong plus.
• Highly detail-oriented, organized, and deadline-driven.
• Experience working with remote teams and structured content workflows.
• Experience: 3–7 years in graphic design / digital media design.
