CPET Injection Moulding Machine Operator (Automated Plant)

Department Production – Injection Moulding

Reporting To Production Supervisor / Floor Incharge

Job Purpose: To operate, monitor, and maintain automated CPET injection moulding machines to ensure efficient production of high-quality plastic components while maintaining safety, productivity, and quality standards.

• Key ResponsibilitiesMachine OperationOperate CPET injection moulding machines and automated robotic systems.
• Set and monitor machine parameters such as temperature, pressure, cycle time, and cooling time.
• Ensure machines run smoothly with minimal downtime.
• Start up and shut down machines according to SOP.
• Production MonitoringMonitor production output to meet daily production targets.

Identify and troubleshoot common moulding defects such as:

• Short shots
• Flash
• Sink marks
• Warpage
• Adjust machine settings when required.
• Quality ControlInspect moulded products for quality, finish, and dimensional accuracy.
• Ensure products meet company and customer specifications.
• Segregate defective products and report issues immediately.
• Automation HandlingMonitor robotic pickers, conveyors, and automated packing systems.
• Ensure proper functioning of sensors and automation systems.
• Mold & Tool HandlingAssist in mould changeover and machine setup.
• Check mould condition before starting production.
• Ensure proper mould cleaning and storage.
• Maintenance SupportPerform basic preventive maintenance of machines.
• Report mechanical or electrical issues to the maintenance team.
• Safety & HousekeepingFollow all factory safety procedures and PPE requirements.
• Maintain clean and organized work areas (5S standards).

Maintaining Documentation:

• production logs, machine reports, and downtime records.
• Record production quantities and rejection levels.
• Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)Machine uptime
• Production target achievement
• Rejection percentage
• Cycle time efficiency
• Compliance with safety and SOP

Qualifications:

• Diploma / ITI in Plastic Processing, Mechanical, or related field preferred.
• Certification in Injection Moulding Machine Operation is an advantage.
• Experience: 2–5 years experience in injection moulding operations.
• Experience with automated or robotic moulding lines preferred.
• Experience with CPET or food-grade plastic materials is a plus.
