Role Overview

The Assistant Service & Maintenance Manager will oversee end-to-end elevator service and maintenance operations across the Kolkata region. The role focuses on ensuring high uptime, rapid issue resolution, preventive maintenance compliance, customer satisfaction, and strict adherence to safety and statutory norms. This position is critical in managing field teams, coordinating with customers, and driving service excellence post-installation.


Key Responsibilities

Service Operations & Execution

  • Manage day-to-day service and maintenance activities for installed elevators across the Kolkata region
  • Ensure timely execution of preventive maintenance schedules and breakdown call closures
  • Monitor elevator uptime, response time, and service quality metrics
  • Coordinate corrective actions to minimize downtime and repeat failures

Team Leadership & Field Management

  • Lead, mentor, and manage service engineers, technicians, and subcontractors
  • Allocate routes, shifts, and service calls efficiently to optimize productivity
  • Provide technical guidance, troubleshooting support, and on-site escalation handling
  • Drive performance reviews and skill development initiatives

Customer & Stakeholder Coordination

  • Act as the primary point of contact for customers regarding service-related issues
  • Ensure professional handling of customer complaints, escalations, and service commitments
  • Coordinate with internal teams (Installation, Supply Chain, Quality, Sales) for issue resolution
  • Maintain strong relationships with key clients and residential associations

Quality, Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure all service and maintenance activities comply with company standards and safety norms
  • Conduct regular site audits, safety checks, and toolbox talks
  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, inspections, and certifications
  • Promote and enforce a zero-accident culture across service sites

Spare Parts & Vendor Management

  • Plan and manage spare parts availability to ensure first-time-fix efficiency
  • Coordinate with factories, warehouses, and logistics teams for timely material supply
  • Manage external service vendors and ensure adherence to SLAs, quality, and safety standards

Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate service records, breakdown logs, preventive maintenance checklists, and reports
  • Track recurring issues and implement root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective actions
  • Prepare and submit regular service performance, downtime, and customer satisfaction reports

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline
  • 8–15 years of experience in elevator service & maintenance, including supervisory or managerial roles
  • Strong knowledge of elevator systems, troubleshooting, safety codes, and statutory regulations
  • Proven experience managing regional service operations and customer escalations
  • Strong leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities

Preferred / Added Advantages

  • Certifications in Elevator Maintenance, Safety, or Service Operations Management
  • Experience handling regional or multi-city service operations
  • Exposure to premium residential or high-rise elevator maintenance
