ABOUT THE ROLE
Techwens Software Pvt Ltd is seeking a technically-minded and sales-driven Business Development Executive to join our growing field sales team. This is not a conventional sales role. We are looking for someone who understands technology, can speak the client's language, and can translate complex software features into real business value.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Field Sales & Client Acquisition
• Conduct daily field visits to prospective SME clients across Manufacturing, Retail, Hospitality, and Corporate sectors.
• Identify decision-makers (business owners, HR managers, operations heads) and initiate meaningful business conversations.
• Deliver confident, technically-informed product demonstrations and solution presentations.
• Translate software features into clear business benefits — explaining how the product solves real operational problems.
2. Territory & Lead Development
• Map and develop your assigned territory — research potential clients, identify pain points, and build a healthy lead pipeline.
• Generate leads through cold visits, referrals, local networking, and follow-up on inbound inquiries.
• Maintain a structured approach to prospecting with consistent daily outreach activity.
3. Technical Consultation & Pre-Sales Support
• Act as the first line of technical consultation. Understand the client's existing systems and workflows before recommending a solution.
• Handle technical queries and product-related objections confidently during client meetings.
• Coordinate with the internal technical or implementation team when deeper customization discussions are required.
• Gather client-specific requirements and communicate them accurately to the product or solutions team.
4. Sales Cycle Management
• Own the full sales cycle — from initial lead identification through product demo, proposal, negotiation, and contract closure.
• Prepare and present customized quotations; negotiate pricing and terms aligned with company policy.
• Follow up diligently with warm leads and maintain momentum throughout the buying process.
5. Client Onboarding Support
• Support new clients through the initial onboarding phase to ensure a smooth transition to the product.
• Serve as the point of contact between the client and the implementation team during early-stage adoption.
• Address post-sale concerns promptly to ensure high client satisfaction and reduce churn.
6. Reporting & CRM Management
• Log daily field activity, client interactions, leads, and deal status in the CRM or reporting system.
• Track performance against weekly, monthly, and quarterly sales targets.
• Share field insights, competitor intelligence, and client feedback with the internal team regularly.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
Educational Background
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, BCA, B.Sc. (IT), B.Tech, or any related technical discipline.
• Candidates from non-technical backgrounds with demonstrable technical knowledge and strong sales aptitude will also be considered.
Experience
• 1+ years of experience in field sales, software sales, SaaS, IT product sales, or technical pre-sales is preferred.
• Freshers from technical backgrounds with a strong aptitude for sales, excellent communication, and a high drive to learn are equally encouraged to apply.
Technical Knowledge
• Basic to intermediate understanding of software products, SaaS platforms, cloud tools, or enterprise applications.
• Ability to quickly learn and confidently demonstrate a web-based software product to non-technical audiences.
• Comfort with MS Office / Google Workspace, smartphones, CRM tools, and web-based portals.
• Familiarity with HRMS, Payroll, ERP, or Compliance software is a significant advantage (training will be provided).
Sales & Communication Skills
• Strong verbal communication skills in Bengali and Hindi; basic English is preferred.
• Confident presentation and product demonstration abilities — able to simplify technical concepts for a non-technical audience.
• Persuasion, negotiation, and objection-handling capabilities.
Mobility
• Must own a two-wheeler (Bike / Scooter) with a valid Driving License.
• Comfortable with daily field travel across Kolkata and nearby areas.
Personal Traits
• Analytical mindset — able to understand a client's problem and propose a relevant solution.
• Self-motivated, target-driven, and resilient in a field-intensive environment.
• Fast learner with genuine curiosity about technology and how it solves business problems.
• Professional demeanor with the ability to build trust quickly with business owners and decision-makers.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (GOOD TO HAVE)
• Prior exposure to B2B software or SaaS sales environments.
• Experience with CRM platforms such as Zoho, HubSpot, Salesforce, or similar tools.
