Job Description
Position Summary:
Responsible for preparing and presenting high-quality food items, maintaining hygiene standards, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
Responsible for providing excellent customer service, taking orders, and ensuring a pleasant dining experience.
Assist the chef and kitchen staff in food preparation, cleaning, and maintaining kitchen operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and prepare menu items as per café standards.
- Ensure food quality, taste, and presentation meet expectations.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen.
- Monitor inventory and assist in procurement of raw materials.
- Comply with food safety and health regulations.
- Train and supervise kitchen staff if required.
- Greet customers and assist them with seating.
- Take food and beverage orders accurately.
- Serve orders promptly and professionally.
- Handle billing and payment processes.
- Maintain cleanliness of tables and dining area.
- Address customer queries and complaints politely.
- Wash and chop vegetables, fruits, and other ingredients.
- Clean utensils, kitchen equipment, and workstations.
- Assist in stocking and organizing supplies.
- Dispose of waste and maintain hygiene standards.
- Support chef in basic cooking tasks when required.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a chef or cook in a café or restaurant.
- Knowledge of various cuisines and food preparation techniques.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage time effectively.
- Certification in food safety and hygiene (preferred).
- Greet customers and assist them with seating.
- Take food and beverage orders accurately.
- Serve orders promptly and professionally.
- Handle billing and payment processes.
- Maintain cleanliness of tables and dining area.
- Address customer queries and complaints politely.
- Willingness to learn and follow instructions.
- Physical stamina and ability to work long hours.
- Basic understanding of hygiene and safety practices.
