CCTV Technician

Key responsibilities

• Installation: Mounting and positioning cameras, running cables, and setting up recording devices (DVRs/NVRs).
• Maintenance and Repair: Performing regular maintenance checks, troubleshooting technical problems, and repairing faulty equipment.
• System Configuration: Setting up, programming, and configuring both analog and digital CCTV systems.
• Site Surveys: Conducting site assessments to determine the best placement for cameras and equipment and to estimate material needs.
• Technical Support: Providing support to end-users, which can include training them on how to use the system and resolving hardware and software issues.
• Documentation: Keeping accurate records of installation processes, configurations, and maintenance activities.
• Compliance: Ensuring all installations and work comply with safety protocols and relevant industry standards. 

Required skills

• Technical knowledge of various CCTV system types (e.g., dome, bullet, PTZ cameras).
• Proficiency with installation and repair of both hardware and software components.
• Ability to perform physical tasks such as standing, walking, and working in various conditions.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Good communication skills for client support and training.
