Fiber Network Engineer

Job Title: OFC Maintenance Engineer (City OFC Ring)Location: City Operations

Experience: 5 Years Minimum

Job Summary:

We are looking for an OFC Maintenance Engineer responsible for operation, maintenance, and fault management of the city-wide Optical Fiber Cable (OFC) ring network to ensure high uptime and service availability.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain and monitor city OFC ring network and related infrastructure
• Fault detection, localization, and restoration using OTDR and power meter
• Fiber splicing, joint closure maintenance, and patch cord management
• Coordination with field teams, ISPs, and utility agencies during outages
• Preventive maintenance, route inspection, and documentation
• Ensure SLA compliance and minimize downtime
• Maintain network diagrams, fiber records, and incident reports

Required Skills & Qualification:

• Diploma / B.Tech in Electronics, Telecom, or related field
• Hands-on experience in OFC splicing, testing, and troubleshooting
• Knowledge of OTDR, splicing machines, and fiber accessories
• Understanding of ring topology and redundancy concepts
• Willingness to work on call and handle emergency restorations

Preferred:

• Experience in Smart City / ISP / Utility OFC networks
• Knowledge of city permissions and right-of-way coordination
