Field Service Technician

Key Responsibilities:

Installation & Configuration:

Install, configure, and test CCTV systems, access control devices, telephone systems, and other security-related equipment.

Set up and program security systems to meet client requirements.

Ensure all installations comply with company standards, manufacturer guidelines, and applicable safety regulations.

Maintenance & Troubleshooting:

Perform routine maintenance and health checks on installed systems to ensure optimal performance.

Diagnose and repair faults in hardware, wiring, or software in a timely manner.

Provide technical support and solutions for client queries and issues.

System Upgrades:

Identify and implement upgrades to existing security and communication systems.

Keep up to date with advancements in security technologies and recommend improvements.

Customer Interaction:

Liaise with clients to understand their technical requirements and provide expert advice.

Conduct site surveys to determine the best setup and installation approach.

Train end-users on system operation and basic troubleshooting.

Documentation & Reporting:

Prepare detailed installation and maintenance reports.

Maintain records of equipment, parts, and inventory.

Document customer feedback and system configurations for future reference.

Safety & Compliance:

Adhere to health and safety guidelines during all installations and maintenance activities.

Ensure compliance with industry standards and local regulations.

Qualifications & Skills:

Educational Requirements:

Diploma or degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, IT, or a related field.

Relevant certifications (e.g., in CCTV systems, access control technologies, telecommunication systems) are a plus.

Technical Skills:

Strong understanding of security systems (CCTV, access control, intrusion alarms).

Knowledge of telephone and VoIP systems.

Familiarity with networking basics (LAN/WAN, IP configuration, etc.).

Proficiency in wiring, cabling, and soldering techniques.

Soft Skills:

Excellent problem-solving abilities.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

High attention to detail and organizational skills.
