Job Description
- Key Responsibilities1. Procurement & PurchasingIdentify, evaluate, and select suppliers for raw materials, packaging, and operational items.
- Prepare and release purchase orders based on stock requirements.
- Ensure cost-effective and timely procurement without compromising on quality.
- Maintain minimum and maximum stock levels for smooth operations.
- 2. Vendor ManagementBuild and maintain strong relationships with suppliers.
- Negotiate pricing, credit terms, and delivery timelines.
- Evaluate vendor performance (quality, delivery, pricing, service).
- Resolve supplier-related issues such as shortages, delays, or quality concerns.
- 3. Inventory & Stock PlanningCoordinate with warehouse/WMS team for stock updates and reorder levels.
- Prevent over-stocking or stock-out situations through proper forecasting.
- Monitor slow-moving, non-moving and high-demand items regularly.
- 4. Documentation & ComplianceMaintain all purchase-related documents and records (PO, GRN, invoices).
- Ensure compliance with company policies and audit requirements.
- Coordinate with accounts for invoice verification and payment processing.
- 5. Market ResearchTrack price trends, new product availability, and alternate suppliers.
- Compare quotations and ensure competitive market pricing.
- Suggest cost-saving and process-improvement ideas.
- 6. Cross-Department CoordinationCoordinate with operations, warehouse, and sales teams for material requirements.
- Communicate expected delivery timelines and shortages to internal teams.
- Support management with purchase reports and MIS.
- Required SkillsStrong negotiation and communication skills.
- Good knowledge of procurement processes & supply chain.
- Ability to work on WMS/ERP software.
- Analytical mindset with decision-making ability.
- Good vendor relationship management.
- Qualifications & ExperienceGraduate in any discipline (MBA Preferred).
- 3–7 years of experience in procurement/purchasing (FMCG/food & grocery preferred).
- Experience in vendor sourcing and purchase planning.
