JOB DESCRIPTION – SENIOR DESIGN ENGINEER (ELECTRICAL)

POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking a Senior Design Engineer (Electrical) with strong experience in industrial electrical panel design and project engineering.

The role requires expertise in MCC, PCC, APFC, PLC, and VFD panels, complete project drawing preparation, cable layouts, and coordination with internal teams.

The ideal candidate will act as a technical lead, ensuring accurate, safe, and cost-effective electrical designs while guiding junior engineers and supporting project execution teams.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Electrical Design & Engineering

• Prepare complete electrical design packages for:
• MCC (Motor Control Centre) Panels
• PCC (Power Control Centre) Panels
• APFC (Automatic Power Factor Correction) Panels
• PLC Panels
• VFD / Drive Panels
• Design:
• Single Line Diagrams (SLD)
• GA drawings & panel layouts
• Internal wiring diagrams
• Control schematics
• Select electrical components:
• ACB, MCCB, MCB
• Contactors, relays, VFDs, PLCs
• CTs, PTs, meters, protection devices
• Make – Siemens, L&T, ABB, Schneider Components

3. Project Coordination & Support

• Coordinate with:
• Sales team for technical clarifications
• Manufacturing & panel shop for execution feasibility
• Site / commissioning engineers during installation
• Provide design support during:
• Site queries
• Commissioning issues
• Change management requests

4. Team Handling & Technical Leadership

• Guide and review work of junior design engineers / draftsmen
• Conduct internal design reviews
• Ensure standardization of drawings and design practices
• Support skill development within the design team

REQUIRED SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

Technical Skills

• Strong knowledge of:
• Industrial electrical panels (MCC, PCC, APFC, PLC, VFD)
• Cable sizing, selection & routing
• Protection coordination & load calculations
• Ability to read and interpret:
• Customer specifications
• Electrical standards and codes

Software Skills

• AutoCAD tools
• MS Excel for BOQs and calculations
• Basic ERP 

QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE

• Qualification: Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering
• Experience: 5 to 10+ years in:
• Electrical panel design
• Industrial automation or project engineering
• Industry Exposure Preferred:
• Manufacturing, Automation, Power Plants, Process Industries, EPC Projects

 COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

• Salary: ₹40,000 – ₹50,000 per month (Fixed)
