Job Description

Job SummaryThe Site Supervisor shall be responsible for end-to-end supervision of site operations related to piling works and girder launching activities across PAN-India project locations. The role demands strong operational control, discipline in cost and asset management, effective coordination with clients and vendors, strict adherence to safety and quality standards, and transparent reporting to Head Office with a true and fair operational picture.


  • Roles & Responsibilities

1. Site Operations & Execution ControlOversee and execute piling works, girder launching activities, and allied civil operations as per approved drawings, methodology, and site conditions.

  • Ensure site readiness including working platforms, access roads, power, water, and safety arrangements before mobilizing equipment.
  • Plan daily, weekly, and monthly work schedules in coordination with Head Office and client teams.
  • Ensure optimal utilization of manpower and machinery to avoid idle time and productivity losses.
  • Maintain proper site discipline, shift control, and work sequencing.

2. PAN India Deployment & MobilityReady to work at any project location across India, including remote and challenging terrains.

  • Capable of independently managing new sites during mobilization, execution, and demobilization phases.

3. Machinery, Asset & Inventory ManagementTake full custodianship of company-owned machinery, tools, spares, and accessories at site.

  • Ensure preventive maintenance, servicing, and calibration as per OEM and company standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of:
  • Machine logbooks
  • Diesel consumption
  • Breakdown reports
  • Spare usage
  • Service schedules
  • Immediately report any damage, abnormal wear, accident, or theft of company assets.
  • Ensure safe parking, operation, and shutdown of equipment to minimize risk and liability.

4. Site Expenses, Cost Control & Stock ManagementMonitor and control all site-related expenses within approved budgets.

  • Maintain strict control over:
  • Consumables (diesel, bentonite, welding rods, binding wire, etc.)
  • Construction materials
  • Tools and spares
  • Ensure proper stock registers, inward–outward tracking, and periodic physical verification.
  • Prevent wastage, pilferage, overconsumption, and unauthorized usage of materials.
  • Ensure timely indents and avoid emergency or excess procurement.

5. Vendor, Subcontractor & Transporter ControlSupervise and control vendors, subcontractors, and transporters engaged for piling, girder launching, fabrication, crane operations, logistics, and allied works.

  • Ensure vendors follow safety rules, scope of work, approved rates, and agreed timelines.
  • Verify vendor attendance, productivity, material usage, and work quality before bill certification.
  • Report underperformance, safety violations, or non-compliance immediately to Head Office.

6. Client, Consultant & Third-Party CoordinationAct as the primary coordination point between the company and the client at site.

  • Attend coordination meetings, toolbox talks, and progress review meetings.
  • Proactively resolve site constraints to ensure uninterrupted workflow.
  • Maintain professional communication to protect company interests and reputation.

7. Safety, Quality & ComplianceEnsure strict compliance with safety guidelines, PPE usage, and statutory norms.

  • Conduct daily safety briefings and ensure proper barricading, signage, and work permits.
  • Ensure quality checks during piling, cage lowering, concreting, and girder launching.
  • Prevent unsafe practices that may lead to accidents, damage, or contractual penalties.
  • Report all incidents, near misses, and non-conformances immediately.

8. Reporting, Documentation & TransparencySubmit Daily Progress Reports (DPR), weekly summaries, and monthly site reports in prescribed formats.

  • Ensure reports reflect the true and fair status of work progress, constraints, risks, and resource requirements.
  • Maintain site records including drawings, method statements, inspection logs, and correspondence.
  • Avoid misreporting, suppression of facts, or delay in escalation of critical issues.

9. Workforce & Discipline ManagementSupervise operators, helpers, rig crew, welders, and site support staff.

  • Ensure attendance, productivity, and adherence to work timings.
  • Enforce site discipline, ethical conduct, and zero tolerance for negligence or misconduct.
  • Support onboarding and basic training of new manpower at site.

10. Commercial Awareness & Risk ControlUnderstand contractual scope, exclusions, billing milestones, and commercial sensitivities.

  • Ensure work is executed within scope to avoid disputes or unrecoverable costs.
  • Highlight risks related to idle time, delays, scope changes, or client dependencies in advance.
  • Support Head Office in billing, reconciliation, and claim justification with accurate site data.
  • Key Skills & CompetenciesStrong hands-on knowledge of piling, girder launching, cranes, and heavy equipment operations.
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders under pressure.
  • Excellent site-level problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • High level of ownership, integrity, and accountability.
  • Clear communication, documentation, and reporting abilities.
  • Preferred QualificationsDiploma / Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent field experience.
  • 3–7 years of experience in infrastructure, piling, bridge, or heavy construction projects.
  • Exposure to PAN-India project execution is strongly preferred.
  • Authority & AccountabilityResponsible for safeguarding company assets, controlling site costs, and maintaining operational integrity.
  • Accountable for site productivity, safety compliance, and accurate reporting.
  • Any negligence, misreporting, or unauthorized decision may attract disciplinary action as per company policy.
