Summary:
The role of the SQL Server Database Administrator (DBA) encompasses the implementation, configuration, upkeep, and optimization of critical SQL Server relational database management systems (RDBMS). The primary objective is to ensure the continuous availability and optimal performance of our corporate applications. This role is hands-on and demands a strong technical skill set, coupled with exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities.

The successful candidate will be accountable for the development and maintenance of the SQL Server Warehouse, including its operational readiness in terms of security, health, and performance. Responsibilities also include overseeing data loads and conducting data modeling activities in support of various development teams. The data warehouse serves as a foundation for an enterprise application suite featuring program management tools. The ability to work independently and collaboratively is essential for success in this role.


Roles & Responsibilities:
Oversee SQL Server databases across various stages of the product lifecycle, from development through to mission-critical production environments.
Configure and manage database servers and associated processes, including continuous monitoring of system health and performance, to ensure optimal levels of performance, availability, and security.
Implement data modeling techniques to guarantee that development and integration efforts meet performance and compatibility expectations.
Independently identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues in real-time, offering end-to-end problem resolution.
Streamline and automate routine procedures, monitor and document changes, and maintain a record of issues.
Assist developers in optimizing complex queries and refining database schemas.
Provide 24x7 support for essential production systems.
Execute scheduled maintenance tasks and offer support for release deployments outside of regular hours.
Share expertise in both domain-specific and technical areas, delivering technical guidance and facilitating knowledge transfer among peers and team members.

Good To Have Skills: MySQL, SSRS, SSAS, DBAAS, Power shell scripting, SQL, Data-Factory, Synapse, Data lake.
Certification required: Should be cloud certified (preferably azure certified).


Professional & Technical Skills:
A minimum of 4 years of experience in Microsoft SQL Server Administration.
Proficiency in Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO) using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
Expertise in managing backups, restores, and recovery models.
Familiarity with High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for SQL Server.
Knowledge of Windows server operations, including Active Directory.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
A flexible and collaborative team player with a can-do attitude.
Demonstrated ability to independently organize and plan work.
Adaptability in a dynamic work environment.
Effective multitasking and the ability to switch context between various tasks and teams as needed.
