VMC Machine Operator

Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled VMC (Vertical Machining Center) Machine Operator to operate and monitor CNC/VMC machines for precision machining of components. The candidate should be able to read drawings, set tools, and ensure production quality as per specifications.

Key Responsibilities

Operate VMC machines for machining components as per drawings and job instructions

Set up tools, fixtures, and workpieces on the machine

Load and edit programs (basic level) as required

Monitor machine operations and make necessary adjustments

Measure and inspect finished components using measuring instruments

Maintain dimensional accuracy and quality standards

Perform routine machine maintenance and cleaning

Identify and report machine or production issues

Maintain production records and daily logs

Follow safety rules and standard operating procedures (SOPs)

Requirements & Qualifications

ITI / Diploma in Mechanical, Tool & Die, or relevant field

Proven experience as a VMC / CNC Machine Operator

Ability to read engineering drawings and blueprints

Knowledge of cutting tools, materials, and machining processes

Familiarity with measuring instruments (vernier, micrometer, bore gauge, etc.)

Basic knowledge of G-codes and M-codes preferred

Strong attention to detail and quality

Preferred Skills

Experience with Fanuc / Siemens / Haas controls

Knowledge of tool offset setting and job setup

Ability to work in shifts and meet production targets

Teamwork and problem-solving skills
