Qualification: ITI – Fitter

Experience: 3 to 8 Years

Role & Responsibilities

• Carry out mechanical maintenance, inspection, and repair activities in Bar Rolling Mill (BRM) / Wire Rod Mill (WRM).
• Perform preventive, breakdown, and shutdown maintenance of rolling mill equipment.
• Handle maintenance of gearboxes, couplings, bearings, spindles, rollers, guides, shears, conveyors, and hydraulic systems.
• Identify root causes of mechanical failures and support quick restoration of mill operations.
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings, layouts, and maintenance manuals.
• Ensure proper alignment, fitting, and assembly of mechanical components.
• Coordinate with production and maintenance teams to minimize downtime.
• Follow safety procedures, SOPs, and housekeeping standards in the mill area.
• Maintain maintenance records and report abnormalities to supervisors.

Key Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of Hot Rolling Mill mechanical systems.
• Hands-on experience in BRM / WRM equipment maintenance.
• Good understanding of hydraulics, lubrication systems, and power transmission.
• Ability to work under high-temperature and heavy industrial environments.
• Team player with good troubleshooting skills.

Work Environment

• Shop floor / mill area (Hot Rolling Mill)
• Rotational shifts as per production requirement
