Role Overview


The Branch Manager (Direct Channel) is responsible for driving sales through a team of Life Planning Officers (LPOs) and achieving branch business targets through direct acquisition, lead generation, and customer relationship management. The role involves recruitment, development and retention of a high-performing frontline sales team.


Key Responsibilities

1. Sales Management & Target Achievement


Achieve monthly and quarterly business targets for the branch.


Drive sales through direct customer meetings, field activities, local marketing and referrals.


Ensure high productivity from the team of Life Planning Officers (LPOs).


2. Team Leadership


Recruit, onboard and train LPOs in the Direct Channel.


Motivate and coach the team to deliver consistent performance.


Conduct regular review meetings, joint field calls and performance evaluations.


3. Customer Relationship Management


Ensure superior customer experience and high policy persistency.


Support customers in policy servicing needs and maintain strong relationships.


4. Compliance & Process Adherence


Ensure 100% adherence to regulatory guidelines and internal audit norms.


Maintain documentation, reporting accuracy and ethical selling practices.


5. Market Development


Identify local market opportunities to increase penetration.


Execute branch-level promotional and brand visibility activities.

Minimum 3 years of Life Insurance sales experience.


Experience in Direct Channel / Agency / Field Sales preferred.


Prior team handling experience (LPOs/Agents).


Graduation is compulsory.


Strong communication, field sales ability and leadership skills.


Age preferably below 40 years.


Minimum 2 years stability in the previous organization.


Preferred Background


Life insurance companies such as Tata AIA, ABSLI, HDFC Life, ICICI Prudential, Max Life, SBI Life, etc.


Candidates who can generate leads independently and drive direct sales.


Experience in high-activity, field-intensive channels.
