Sales Officer – Modern Trade Designa on: Sales Officer

Modern Trade Department: Sales Repor ng To: Area Sales Manager / Head Of Sales (HOS) Loca on: As assigned Role Purpose To drive sales growth and ensure effec ve execu on in Modern Trade accounts (Na onal & Regional Chains, Supermarkets, Hypermarkets, Cash & Carry formats) by achieving sales targets, ensuring product availability, execu ng promo ons, and maintaining strong rela onships with store teams. Key Responsibili es 1. Sales & Target Achievement  Achieve Monthly, Quarterly, and Annual sales targets for assigned Modern Trade outlets.  Drive primary and secondary sales through effec ve account management.  Ensure maximum product lis ng and SKU expansion across assigned stores.  Monitor daily sales and off-take and take correc ve ac ons to bridge gaps. 2. Account & Store Management  Manage rela onships with Store Managers, Department Managers, and Buyers.  Ensure proper implementa on of commercial terms agreed with Modern Trade chains.  Support Key Account Manager in execu ng Joint Business Plans (JBPs).  Coordinate for mely order placement and replenishment. 3. In-Store Execu on  Ensure 100% availability of listed SKUs on shelf.  Monitor planogram compliance and maintain agreed shelf share.  Execute trade promo ons, price-offs, display ac vi es, and visibility programs.  Coordinate merchandising ac vi es for proper shelf display and branding.  Support smooth execu on of New Product Launches (NPDs). 4. Repor ng & MIS  Submit daily, weekly, and monthly sales reports.  Track compe tor ac vi es including pricing, promo ons, and new launches.  Monitor claims, deduc ons, and ensure mely reconcilia on where applicable.  Maintain accurate sales data and stock records. 5. Coordina on & Supply Management  Coordinate with Supply Chain for stock replenishment and minimize OOS (Out of Stock).  Ensure mely dispatch and adherence to delivery schedules.  Work closely with warehouse and distributor (if applicable) for smooth opera ons. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)  Sales Target Achievement (%)  Numeric & Weighted Distribu on  Shelf Share & Planogram Compliance  Secondary Off-take Growth  Promo Execu on Effec veness  Stock Availability (Fill Rate) Qualifica on & Experience  Minimum Graduate.  2–5 years of experience in Modern Trade sales (FMCG preferred).  Experience handling Na onal/Regional retail chains is an added advantage. Key Skills Required  Strong nego a on and rela onship management skills.  Good understanding of Modern Trade commercial terms.  Analy cal mindset with strong repor ng ability.  Execu on excellence and a en on to detail.  Willingness to travel locally for store visits.
