Job Title: Desktop Application Developer (In-House Systems)

Job Summary: We are looking for an experienced Desktop Application Developer to design, develop, and maintain in-house/Client software applications. The role involves working with legacy and modern systems using FoxPro, MS Access, MySQL, and MS SQL Server as backends, and VB, .NET, and Python as front-end / application layers.

The ideal candidate should be comfortable working with existing systems, enhancing functionality, fixing bugs, and developing new modules as per organizational requirements.

Key Responsibilities· Develop, maintain, and enhance desktop and in-house applications

· Work with databases: FoxPro (DBF), MS Access, MySQL, MS SQL Server

· Design and develop application logic using:

o VB / VB.NET

o .NET Framework

o Python (for utilities, automation, or processing)

· Optimize database queries, stored procedures, and reports

· Integrate legacy systems with newer technologies

· Handle data migration between FoxPro, Access, and SQL databases

· Debug, test, and deploy applications

· Provide technical support and documentation for internal users

· Collaborate with operations and management teams to understand requirements

Required SkillsBackend / Database· FoxPro (DBF handling, legacy systems)

· MS Access

· MySQL

· SQLite

· Microsoft SQL Server

· Strong SQL knowledge (queries, joins, procedures)

Frontend / Application· VB / VB.NET

· .NET Framework (WinForms / Desktop applications)

· Python (basic to intermediate)

· Reporting Engine (Crystal Report etc)

Other Skills· Windows-based application development

· Understanding of legacy system modernization

· Debugging and performance tuning

· Good problem-solving and analytical skills

Preferred Qualifications· Experience with data entry systems, reporting systems, or automation

· Knowledge of barcode scanning, image processing, or document-based systems

· Experience working in education, examination, or administrative software

· Ability to work independently on in-house projects

Experience· 3+ years of relevant experience (flexible for the right candidate)
