Job Description

🏨 ROLE OVERVIEWThe General Manager (GM) will be responsible for end-to-end management of the hotel property, acting as the owner’s representative. The role requires a hands-on leader who can independently manage operations, staff, maintenance, guest satisfaction, and financial discipline while ensuring smooth day-to-day functioning of the hotel.

This is a working GM role, not a desk-only position.



  • 🔑 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES1️⃣ Overall Hotel OperationsEnsure smooth daily operations of the entire hotel
  • Coordinate and supervise all departments:

  • Front Office
  • Housekeeping
  • Maintenance
  • Kitchen & F&B
  • Act as the single point of accountability for property performance



  • 2️⃣ Front Office & Guest ExperienceSupervise front desk operations, check-in/check-out, billing, and night audit
  • Ensure strict control on cash, UPI, POS, and billing accuracy
  • Handle guest complaints, escalations, and service recovery
  • Maintain OTA inventory, rates, and coordination (Booking.com, Agoda, etc.)
  • Ensure compliance with ID verification, hotel policies, and local regulations



  • 3️⃣ Housekeeping & Hygiene ControlEnsure room readiness, cleanliness, and hygiene standards
  • Supervise housekeeping staff, rosters, and inspections
  • Control linen inventory, consumables, and housekeeping supplies
  • Implement and monitor housekeeping checklists and SOPs



  • 4️⃣ Maintenance & Asset Management (CRITICAL)Oversee preventive and breakdown maintenance of:

  • Electrical systems, DB panels, wiring
  • Air-conditioning systems (indoor & outdoor units)
  • Plumbing, geysers, pressure pumps, water tanks
  • CCTV, Wi-Fi, TV, telecom systems
  • Furniture, fixtures, fittings, doors, locks, mirrors
  • Kitchen equipment, refrigerators, freezers, stoves, ranges
  • Coordinate with technicians, vendors, and AMC providers
  • Maintain maintenance logs, schedules, and cost control
  • Ensure safety, uptime, and long-term asset protection



  • 5️⃣ Kitchen & F&B CoordinationCoordinate with chefs and kitchen staff for smooth service
  • Ensure hygiene, food safety, and equipment upkeep
  • Monitor inventory, wastage, and basic cost controls
  • Ensure service timelines are met for guests



  • 6️⃣ Staff Management & DisciplineSupervise all hotel staff across departments
  • Prepare duty rosters, attendance, and shift schedules
  • Enforce discipline, grooming standards, and professional conduct
  • Handle staff performance issues, warnings, and terminations if required
  • Train staff on SOPs and service standards



  • 7️⃣ Financial & Administrative ControlDaily cash reconciliation and reporting to owner
  • Monitor expenses, vendor bills, and petty cash
  • Control operational costs without compromising service
  • Prepare daily and weekly operational reports
  • Ensure statutory and compliance adherence as instructed by management



  • 🎯 REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCEMandatoryMinimum 10–15 years of experience in hotel operations
  • Prior experience as General Manager / Property Manager / Operations Head
  • Strong background in housekeeping, maintenance, and operations
  • Experience in owner-managed hotels preferred
  • Ability to manage staff, vendors, and guests independently
  • SkillsStrong leadership and decision-making ability
  • Hands-on maintenance understanding (not just delegation)
  • Excellent problem-solving and guest-handling skills
  • Basic computer skills (hotel software, Excel, WhatsApp reporting)
  • Hindi fluency required; working English preferred
