Job Description
- Key Responsibilities1. Recruitment & CrewingManage end-to-end recruitment of seafarers (officers, ratings, engineers)
- Coordinate with crewing agencies and maritime institutes
- Ensure proper documentation (CDC, passports, visas, certificates)
- 2. Compliance & RegulationsEnsure adherence to maritime labor laws such as MLC (Maritime Labour Convention)
- Maintain crew certification records as per IMO (International Maritime Organization) and flag state requirements
- Handle audits and inspections related to crew compliance
- 3. Crew ManagementPlan and manage crew rotations and deployment schedules
- Maintain crew database and records
- Handle onboarding and offboarding processes
- 4. Training & DevelopmentIdentify training needs for crew members
- Coordinate safety and skill development programs (STCW courses)
- Track certification validity and renewals
- 5. Payroll & BenefitsManage crew payroll, allotments, and contracts
- Ensure timely wage payments as per agreements
- Handle insurance, compensation, and benefits
- 6. Employee Relations & WelfareAddress crew grievances and disciplinary issues
- Ensure welfare standards onboard ships
- Support mental health and well-being initiatives for seafarers
- 7. Performance ManagementImplement appraisal systems for crew members
- Coordinate feedback from captains and senior officers
- 8. Documentation & ReportingMaintain HR records and reports for management
- Prepare reports on crew performance, retention, and compliance
