Job Description Summary
This role oversees all resources and logistics needed to carry out service and maintenance activities at a customer’s site or property. These activities support, maintain, repair, and refurbish sold or existing products and include all forms of maintenance services—both preventive and corrective—as well as the management of maintenance facilities and field service engineering. The work influences departmental operations and involves planning and executing tasks. While the role has some autonomy, it primarily focuses on executing activities within established functional practices and procedures. Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities:
This role requires degreed engineers responsible for all on-site life‑extension, repair, and inspection services for installed fleets, as well as supervision of construction and commissioning activities for both new and existing equipment at customer locations. Work includes specialized tasks such as on‑site machining, NDT, blading, winding, critical welding, and generator diagnostics. The position requires the ability to make sound engineering decisions.
Engineers in this role develop deep expertise in a technical discipline and apply their experience and technical knowledge to effectively execute established policies and strategies. They possess a strong understanding of key business drivers and how their work integrates with and supports other teams.
The role involves using judgment to propose solutions that may extend beyond standard parameters, though typically with guidance. Problem‑solving is supported by prior experience, on‑the‑job training, and access to technical and analytical resources. Decision‑making may draw on multiple internal sources beyond the immediate team.
At this level, the position is typically an individual contributor with strong interpersonal skills or an early people leader capable of hiring and developing talent. The role may also provide informal guidance to newer team members.
Required Qualifications:
- This position requires advanced experience in Services and Field Services. The expected knowledge level is equivalent to a bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college, or a high school diploma supplemented by substantial relevant experience.
Desired Characteristics:
Strong oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs. Established project management skills.
