Financial Accounting & Reporting

Manage accounting transactions tied to ocean freight and shipping operations, including freight charges, lease depreciation, and ancillary costs.

Perform monthly closings, account reconciliations, and ensure accuracy of freight revenue and cost accounts.

Maintain ledgers and financial records in compliance with accounting standards and local tax laws.

Prepare financial reports such as margin analysis, cost allocation reports, and monthly performance summaries for management.

2. Collaboration with Operations

Work closely with operations, commercial, and logistics teams to ensure correct revenue recognition and timely processing of financial data.

Coordinate with port agents, vessel crews, and vendors to resolve invoicing and reconciliation issues.

3. Cost & Revenue Management

Monitor vessel or freight-related expenses, payables, and receivables.

Validate invoices against contracts, tariffs, or disbursement accounts.

Support budgeting and variance analysis (cost tracking vs. forecast).

4. Compliance & Audit Support

Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules, documentation, and responses.

Ensure documentation and financial states meet internal control, statutory, and regulatory compliance.

5. Process Improvement

Identify and implement improvements for financial reporting, reconciliation processes, and accounting systems efficiency.
