Job Description – Accountant / Senior Accountant

A. Responsibilities

• Document and record all financial transactions accurately
• Maintain and update general ledgers
• Reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Perform bank statement reconciliations on a regular basis
• Identify and resolve accounting discrepancies
• Prepare balance sheets, profit & loss statements, and cash flow reports
• Compute applicable taxes and ensure timely tax return filings
• Ensure compliance with GST and TDS regulations
• Assist in and conduct internal and statutory audits
• Review and monitor budgets and expense controls
• Forecast financial performance and support management reporting
• Manage payroll processing and statutory deductions
• Track, verify, and control business expenses
• Manage vendor payments, reconciliations, and confirmations

B. Essential Skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Sound knowledge of Indian financial and accounting rules
• Ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks

C. Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce (minimum 3 years)
• Tally certification (ERP / Prime)
• Minimum 2+ years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting
• Working knowledge of GST, TDS, and statutory compliance
