A telecaller job description involves making outbound calls to potential clients and handling inbound calls from existing customers to sell products or services, generate leads, and provide customer support. Key responsibilities include explaining product features, following up on leads, maintaining accurate records in a CRM system, and meeting sales or engagement goals. 

Core responsibilities

  • Sales and lead generation: Initiating calls to potential clients, explaining products/services, converting prospects into customers, and meeting sales targets.
  • Customer service: Handling inbound calls, addressing inquiries and complaints, and providing support to existing clients.
  • Record keeping: Maintaining accurate call logs, updating customer information in a CRM system, and creating reports.
  • Follow-up: Engaging in follow-up calls to nurture leads and maintain relationships with customers.
  • Product knowledge: Staying up-to-date on products, pricing, and promotions to provide accurate information. 

Essential skills and qualifications

  • Communication: Strong verbal communication, persuasion, and active listening skills.
  • Computer proficiency: Familiarity with CRM software and basic computer skills.
  • Professional attributes: Ability to handle rejection positively, manage high-pressure situations, and maintain a professional demeanor.
  • Sales acumen: Ability to persuade customers and close sales.
  • Attention to detail: Essential for accurate record-keeping and handling multiple interactions.
