Job Description

A field sales executive (FSE) is a company representative who works outside the office to generate sales and maintain client relationships. Their responsibilities include: 

  • Generating leads: Attracting new customers and working prospects through the sales process 
  • Meeting sales targets: Working towards personal and team sales targets 
  • Building relationships: Maintaining relationships with existing customers and establishing new ones 
  • Educating customers: Providing product demonstrations and presentations 
  • Analyzing needs: Performing needs analysis and cost-benefit analysis for clients 
  • Negotiating: Negotiating payment and pricing with customers 
  • Reporting: Preparing sales reports and providing feedback to management 
  • Coordinating: Coordinating sales efforts with other departments 
  • Monitoring competitors: Monitoring competitors' sales activities and marketing strategies 
  • Traveling: Traveling to different locations to meet clients 

FSEs need to be knowledgeable about products and have good interpersonal skills, such as empathy, negotiation, persuasion, problem solving, patience, and flexibility.
