Job Description

Job Summary:

The Lecturer in Hotel Management is responsible for teaching, mentoring, and developing students pursuing hospitality and hotel management programs. The lecturer will deliver high-quality instruction in hotel operations, management principles, guest services, food and beverage operations, and related subjects. The role also involves curriculum development, research or industry engagement, and contributing to the overall academic and professional growth of students.

Key Responsibilities:

Teaching and Learning

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver lectures, tutorials, and practical sessions in hotel and hospitality management subjects (e.g., front office, housekeeping, food & beverage, marketing, finance, and human resource management).
  • Use a variety of teaching methods and modern learning technologies to engage students effectively.
  • Develop lesson plans, course materials, and assessment tools aligned with program objectives and accreditation standards.
  • Supervise student projects, internships, and practical training in collaboration with industry partners.
  • Assess and evaluate student performance fairly and provide constructive feedback.

Curriculum and Program Development

  • Participate in the design, review, and continuous improvement of hotel management courses and programs.
  • Ensure that course content reflects current industry trends, sustainability practices, and global hospitality standards.
  • Integrate practical, experiential learning components into the curriculum.

Industry and Research Engagement

  • Maintain strong connections with the hospitality and tourism industry to enhance teaching relevance and student employability.
  • Participate in professional development and, where applicable, contribute to research, publications, or consultancy projects.
  • Organize or assist in industry visits, workshops, guest lectures, and seminars.

Administrative and Institutional Responsibilities :

  • Maintain accurate academic records and support the institution’s quality assurance processes.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, committees, and institutional events.
  • Contribute to student advising, mentoring, and extracurricular hospitality activities.
