An extruder operator is responsible for operating and maintaining extrusion machinery to produce plastic or rubber products, ensuring quality and safety standards are met.

Key Responsibilities Machine Setup and Operation: Set up and operate extrusion machines, including installing dies and adjusting machine settings to ensure optimal performance. 

Quality Control: Monitor the extrusion process and inspect products for quality, ensuring they meet specifications for dimensions, thickness, and surface finish. 

• Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on machinery, lubricating parts and cleaning equipment to maintain operational efficiency. 
• Data Recording: Log production data, including quantities produced, downtime, and any issues encountered during the extrusion process. 
• Safety Compliance: Follow safety protocols and procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to OSHA guidelines.

• Required Skills and Qualifications Technical Skills: Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to troubleshoot machinery issues are essential. 
• Physical Stamina: The role often requires physical strength and stamina, as operators may need to lift heavy materials and stand for long periods. 
• Attention to Detail: A high level of attention to detail is necessary to ensure product quality and adherence to specifications. 
• Problem-Solving Skills: Operators should possess critical thinking skills to effectively address production challenges. 

• Education: 
• While on-the-job training is common, a high school diploma or equivalent is typically required, and some positions may prefer candidates with technical training or experience in manufacturing.
