QA Lead ( Zapper ) - AM/Mgr

Airtel’s DTH is the  satellite broadcaster in India  with a portfolio that includes STB across multiple segments ( SD Zapper, HD Zapper, and Android STBs) .

 

The candidate will lead a team of QA engineers to define/develop/drive test strategy for Airtel’s portfolio of STB boxes ( especially Zappers)  In the role , the candidate will also work closely with partners/vendors ( Systems Integrators , CAS vendors and ODM partners ) and internal stakeholders ( product teams, operations teams ) to drive overall quality of our products.

 

 

Mandatory Skills:

1. 1. is a currently a test engineer/test lead with a min of 6-8 years deep expertise in testing of STB box devices – both SW and HW.
   2. Demonstrated experience with E2E System Integration and Testing of Set top boxes including
      1.  Writing test cases, Test Strategy and defining acceptance test plans
      2. Good understanding of test case automation for Zapper devices
      3. Experience in defining/developing non functional test cases for KPI measurements and stability/MTBFboth SW and HW.
      4. An understanding of HW systems including testing of key HW parts like memory etc.
      5. Good understanding of Synamedia and Irdeto based MW and CAS systems
   3. Has a good understand of DVB stack, CAS systems and broadcast technology in general. Understands how these technologies work and is able to use his/her understanding of this to define new test cases
   4. Is organized , process oriented  with an ability to lead small teams and drive discussions with external vendor teams.

 

Preferred Skills:

 

 

1. 5. Experience with scripting languages like Python, a demonstrated experience in using scripting language for automating test cases will be a huge plus
