2D Draughtsman (Automotive Components)

Location: Andheri West, Mumbai

Salary: ₹25,000 – ₹55,000 per month (Commensurate with experience)

Experience: Minimum 3 years, Preferred 5 Years at least

Role Objective

We are looking for a detail-oriented 2D Draughtsman to join our engineering team at our Andheri West head office. You will be responsible for creating, modifying, and managing high-precision technical drawings for a wide range of automotive engine, braking, and suspension components. While the core of this role is 2D-focused, your ability to understand and work with 3D models will be a significant advantage in our development process.

Key Responsibilities

• Technical Drafting: Prepare detailed 2D engineering drawings, layouts, and assembly diagrams for automotive parts such as cylinder liners, pistons, valves, and gaskets.
• Reverse Engineering: Create accurate technical drawings from physical samples, hand sketches, or customer specifications.
• Standards Compliance: Ensure all drawings adhere to international automotive standards (ISO/IATF) and include precise Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Design Revision: Update and maintain existing drawing databases to reflect engineering changes, material updates, or manufacturing process improvements.
• Collaboration: Work closely with the production and quality teams to ensure that designs are manufacturable and meet strict quality benchmarks.
• Documentation: Maintain organized digital records of all revisions, ensuring version control and easy retrieval for the manufacturing plant.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Experience: 3–5 years of experience in technical drafting, specifically within the automotive or mechanical manufacturing industry.
• Technical Expertise: Mastery of 2D drafting principles, including orthogonal projections, section views, and detailed dimensioning.
• Precision: Strong understanding of tolerances, fits, and surface finish symbols.
• Education: ITI Draughtsman (Mechanical) or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
• 3D Capability (Preferred): Basic to intermediate knowledge of 3D modeling is a major plus, as it helps in visualizing complex geometries before 2D finalization.
• Attention to Detail: A "right-first-time" attitude is essential given our global export standards.
