Accountant

We are seeking a detail-oriented Tax Associate to join our growing firm. In this role, you will be the engine of our tax operations, ensuring that all client documentation is accurate and that filings are submitted on time. You will work directly under the firm’s leadership to execute tax strategies and maintain high compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Data Preparation: Organize and analyze client financial information, including income statements, receipts, and prior tax returns.
• Filing & Compliance: Prepare federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals and small businesses using [Specify Software, e.g., Tally, QuickBooks, or Lacerte].
• Audit Support: Assist in gathering financial records and supporting workpapers for audits or inquiries from tax authorities.
• Client Coordination: Act as the first point of contact to collect missing documents and answer basic tax-related queries.
• Research: Perform preliminary research on changing tax codes and rulings to support the firm’s advisory work.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 1–2 years of experience in tax preparation or bookkeeping.
• Strong proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software.
