Core responsibilities

·        Financial record-keeping: Maintain accurate financial records, process journal entries, and manage the general ledger.

·        Accounts payable and receivable: Process invoices, manage bills, reconcile vendor payments, and handle accounts receivable.

·        Reconciliations: Perform bank reconciliations and other account reconciliations to ensure accuracy.

·        Financial reporting: Assist in preparing financial statements like balance sheets and income statements.

·        Compliance: Ensure compliance with financial regulations, assist with tax preparation (like TDS), and manage petty cash.

·        Support: Support senior accountants and auditors with various tasks and provide data for budgets and forecasts. 

Key skills and qualifications

·        Technical skills: Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel is essential.

·        Accounting knowledge: Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and standards is required.

·        Attention to detail: The ability to be accurate and thorough is a crucial trait.

·        Analytical and problem-solving skills: These are necessary for identifying discrepancies and finding solutions.

·        Communication: Good communication skills are needed for collaborating with other departments and team members.

·        Education: A bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field is often a requirement.
