Accountant

We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Accountant to manage day-to-day financial operations of our company Popular Engineering Corporation. The role involves handling bookkeeping, statutory compliance, taxation, and supporting management with accurate financial data for decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

1. Accounting & Bookkeeping

Maintain books of accounts (Sales, Purchase, Receipts, Payments)

Record journal entries and reconcile ledgers

Manage accounts payable and receivable

Perform bank reconciliations on a regular basis

2. GST & Tax Compliance

Prepare and file GST returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, etc.)

Ensure proper input tax credit reconciliation

Handle TDS calculations, deductions, and return filings

Coordinate with external CA for income tax filings and audits

3. Financial Reporting

Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements

Generate MIS reports for management review

Track expenses, cost centers, and profitability

4. Payroll & Statutory Compliance

Process employee payroll and maintain salary records

Ensure compliance with PF, ESI, PT, and other labor laws

Handle statutory filings and documentation

5. Audit & Documentation

Maintain proper documentation for all financial transactions

Assist in internal and external audits

Ensure compliance with company policies and financial controls

Required Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (B.Com) or equivalent

2–5 years of experience in accounting (preferably in MSME)

Good knowledge of GST, TDS, and Indian taxation

Proficiency in accounting software (Tally, Zoho Books)

Strong Excel skills

Attention to detail and accuracy

Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
