Job Description

  • Oversee daily billing operations for logistics and freight services, ensuring accuracy and adherence to contracts, rate cards, and SLAs
  • Manage end-to-end billing cycles, including validation of freight charges, supporting documents, and revenue recognition
  • Monitor high-value shipments, key accounts, and open billing jobs to prevent delays and revenue leakage
  • Drive timely billing through proactive follow-ups and escalation of unresolved issues
  • Ensure strong accounting controls and accurate posting of billing entries
  • Lead, manage, and mentor a large billing team of 20–25 members across locations or processes
  • Allocate work, set targets, monitor productivity, and ensure optimal team utilization
  • Conduct regular performance reviews, coaching sessions, and succession planning
  • Foster a culture of accountability, accuracy, compliance, and continuous improvement
  • Work closely with branch offices, operations, documentation, and customer service teams to ensure timely submission of freight files, PODs, and supporting documents
  • Streamline inter-department communication to reduce billing turnaround time (TAT)
  • Standardize billing processes, documentation, and SOPs across all branches
  • Ensure correct GST classification, tax calculation, and invoicing for freight and logistics services
  • Oversee GST compliance, including returns, reconciliations, and statutory filings
  • Lead and manage GST audits, coordinate with auditors, and ensure timely closure of audit observations
  • Maintain audit readiness through proper documentation, reconciliations, and controls
  • Prepare and present MIS reports, billing dashboards, revenue aging, and variance analysis
  • Continuously review and improve billing SOPs and internal controls
