Job Title: Area Sales Manager (ASM)

Job Summary


The Area Sales Manager will be responsible for developing and expanding the distributor and dealer network, while ensuring strong secondary sales generation in the assigned territory. The role requires a balance of channel development, market execution, and direct sales support.


Key Responsibilities

1. Channel Development

Appoint and develop Distributors and Dealers in the assigned territory

Identify potential markets (Metro / A / B / C category towns) for expansion

Ensure proper onboarding as per company SOP

2. Secondary Sales Generation

Drive secondary sales through distributors and dealers

Support dealers in closing end-customer deals

Ensure consistent movement of product from distributor to market

3. Market Execution

Conduct regular field visits, dealer meetings, and site interactions

Generate and convert leads through direct efforts and coordination with calling team

Support product demonstrations and presentations

4. Sales Planning & Target Achievement

Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets

Prepare territory-wise business plans and forecasts

Track performance and take corrective actions

5. Coordination & Reporting

Coordinate with Sales Team, Service Team, and Head Office

Maintain proper reporting: visits, leads, conversions, and collections

Share regular updates, feedback, and market insights

6. Dealer Support & Training

Guide dealers on product positioning and sales approach

Assist in installation planning discussions along with technical team

Ensure proper communication of product features and benefits

Key Requirements

Proven experience in channel sales / distribution management

Ability to generate secondary sales and business growth

Strong communication and negotiation skills

Willingness for extensive field travel

Basic understanding of electrical products / industrial sales preferred

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

Number of active distributors and dealers appointed

Secondary sales volume generated

Territory-wise sales growth

Lead conversion ratio

Market coverage and expansion
