Automation Engineer

Instrumentation & Design • Develop and standardize instrumentation specifications (sensors, transmitters, analyzers, gauges). • Prepare P&IDs, wiring diagrams, loop diagrams, and cable schedules. • Define bill of materials (BOM) for instrumentation and control systems. • Provide design inputs to panel fabricator (GA drawings, interlock logics, I/O lists). • Ensure compliance with IEC, ISO, and customer-specific standards. 2. Control Systems (PLC/SCADA/VFD/Heater Control) • Develop PLC, VFD, SCADA, and electric heater control logic/programs. • Design and configure thyristor/SSR-based heater control systems including PID tuning, firing angle control, and power modulation. • Test, validate, and optimize heater control performance in FAT and SAT. • To Build logic blocks for repetitive Thermovision projects (burners, heaters, furnaces). • Configure HMIs and operator interfaces for ease of use.3. Vendor & Project Coordination • Act as single technical contact for panel fabricator (design inputs, clarifications, approvals). • Review vendor documents, wiring schemes, heater control integration, and panel layouts. • Support supply chain with technical evaluations of vendors/instrumentation/heater control devices. • Ensure project deliverables are completed within timelines. 4. Testing & Commissioning • Lead FAT with panel builder and internal QA. • Supervise SAT and commissioning at site. • Calibrate field instruments, verify loops, and fine-tune control logic. • Commission heater control systems ensuring stable performance and safety compliance. • Train customer operators on instrumentation, automation, and heater control systems. 5. Documentation & Standards • Maintain design templates, standard instrument lists, PLC/SCADA logic libraries, and heater control configurations. • Prepare operating manuals, test procedures, and training documentation. • Drive continuous improvement in instrumentation, automation, and heater control practices.
