Job Description:

The Cafe Manager will be responsible for overseeing all operations of the cafe, ensuring a smooth and efficient experience for both customers and staff. This role requires a dynamic individual who can manage a team, handle customer service, maintain high standards of quality, and drive revenue through excellent service. The candidate must also have a strong knowledge of coffee varieties, preparation techniques, and quality standards to ensure exceptional coffee service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operations Management:


  • Manage daily operations of the cafe, ensuring smooth and efficient service.
  • Ensure the cafe is well-stocked with supplies and maintain relationships with vendors.
  • Maintain a clean and organized environment, adhering to health and safety standards.
  • Staff Supervision:


  • Recruit, train, and supervise cafe staff, including waiters, stewards, and kitchen assistants.
  • Schedule shifts and manage staff availability to ensure proper coverage.
  • Monitor staff performance and provide feedback to maintain high service standards.
  • Customer Service:


  • Greet customers, take orders, and ensure customer satisfaction through prompt and courteous service.
  • Handle customer complaints professionally and ensure swift resolutions.
  • Engage with customers to create a welcoming and friendly environment.
  • Coffee Knowledge and Preparation:


  • Ensure all staff have a strong understanding of coffee preparation techniques, including espresso, cappuccino, latte, and other popular varieties.
  • Maintain high-quality standards for coffee flavor, temperature, and presentation.
  • Update staff on new coffee products and train them in specialized techniques to meet customer preferences.
  • Inventory and Cost Management:


  • Manage inventory and ensure timely replenishment of stock, with a focus on coffee beans and related supplies.
  • Track daily expenses and revenues to manage the budget and ensure profitability.
  • Collaborate with the finance department to manage accounts and reconcile daily transactions.
  • Sales and Marketing:


  • Implement promotional strategies to attract more customers and increase revenue.
  • Monitor and evaluate customer preferences to update the menu or service based on feedback.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to plan events or special offers for the cafe.
  • Quality Assurance:


  • Ensure that all food and beverages, especially coffee, meet the hotel’s quality standards.
  • Conduct regular quality checks to maintain consistency in coffee and overall service.
  • Oversee the preparation and presentation of menu items to maintain a high standard.


  • Requirements:


  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role within a cafe or restaurant.
  • In-depth knowledge of coffee varieties, brewing methods, and preparation standards.
  • Basic knowledge of inventory management and cost control practices.
  • Excellent people management skills and the ability to lead a team effectively.
  • Strong customer service skills and experience handling customer inquiries or complaints.
  • Basic proficiency in English for clear communication.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain a calm demeanor under pressure.


  • Preferred Qualities:


  • Previous experience as a Cafe Manager or similar role.
  • Knowledge of hospitality industry standards.
  • A customer-centric approach with a focus on service excellence.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
