Care Companion

Role Overview

We are seeking compassionate and responsible care companions to support older adults, including those living with dementia, in their homes. The Care Companion will provide respectful, person-centred care that promotes dignity, comfort, safety, and meaningful engagement in daily life.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide companionship and emotional support to elders Assist with activities of daily living (bathing, grooming, dressing, mobility)
• Support meals, hydration, and medication reminders
• Engage elders in conversation, activities, and cognitive stimulation
• Maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable environment
• Observe and report changes in behaviour or health to the care team
• Follow caregiving standards and documentation practices
• Care companions typically assist with daily living activities, emotional support, routine management, and monitoring wellbeing to help seniors maintain independence and quality of life.

Ideal Candidate

• Empathetic, patient, and respectful toward elders
• Good communication skills
• Willingness to learn dementia-care techniques
• Prior caregiving or nursing experience preferred (training provided)
