Cath Lab Technician

Education : -

Bachelor’s Degree in Catheterization Laboratory Technology

Required Skills : -

• Certification required by ACLS, BLS .
• Minimum 1-3 two years of experience.

Duties And Responsibilities : -

• Provide the deliver of the patient care and demonstrates regard for the dignity and respect of all the patients and family members as defined in the mission of our facility.
• Utilizes equipment and supplies in a safe and prudent manner
• Obtains required patient history and / or consents, reviews for accuracy, completeness and verifies patient identification and information prior to procedure.
• Verifies lab results prior to procedure to determine that the results are within the normal ranges for procedure and that the patient is a candidate for administration of contrast material according to protocol
• Responsible for cleaning equipment, exam rooms and keeps an orderly work area for improved efficiency.
• Opens sterile packs and prepares instrument table for catheterization procedure
• Greets patient and makes comfortable with department surroundings
• Observes patient for any complications of catheterization procedure
• Observes all fluid infusion and patency of catheters
• Assist physician during procedure
• Restocks and prepares rooms for next day's procedures in conjunction with other team members
• Proficient in interpreting EKG and blood pressure tracings. (Hemodynamic monitoring)
• Knowledge of Cath Lab imaging and monitoring equipment
• Knowledge of EP equipment and procedures preferred
• Training specific to the Cardiac Cath Lab
• Demonstrate documentation on patient care records and unit forms
• Assures safe disposal of bio-hazardous materials
• Preparing CD and reports of procedure.
• Maintaining case record and registers and reports backup
• Maintaining cath-lab inventories & stack as per hospital policies
