Commis Chef

Job Summary:

The Commi – Indian & Continental is responsible for assisting in the preparation and cooking of Indian and Continental dishes while maintaining kitchen hygiene and quality standards. The role involves supporting senior chefs in daily kitchen operations and ensuring timely food preparation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the preparation and cooking of Indian and Continental dishes as per standard recipes.
• Perform basic food preparation such as chopping, cutting, marinating, and portioning ingredients.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the kitchen, equipment, and workstations.
• Ensure proper storage of raw materials and ingredients according to food safety standards.
• Follow instructions from the Chef de Partie or Sous Chef during service.
• Support in maintaining stock levels and inform supervisors about shortages.
• Ensure food is prepared and presented according to restaurant quality standards.
• Follow all health and safety regulations in the kitchen.

Requirements:

• 1–3 years of experience in Indian and Continental cuisine.
• Basic knowledge of kitchen operations and cooking techniques.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Basic English communication skills preferred.
• Hotel Management diploma or relevant culinary training is an advantage.
