Job Description
- A computer hardware technician installs, configures, troubleshoots, and repairs computer hardware, including components like motherboards, CPUs, and peripherals such as printers and keyboards. Key responsibilities include diagnosing hardware failures, performing maintenance, tracking inventory, and providing technical support to ensure systems function correctly. - Key Responsibilities
- Installation & Configuration: Set up and install new computer hardware components, peripherals, and software.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose hardware and software problems, such as issues with motherboards, processors, RAM, and network connectivity.
- Repair & Maintenance: Perform repairs by replacing faulty components, upgrading firmware, and ensuring systems are running optimally.
- System Monitoring: Monitor computer systems and networks to identify and prevent potential issues.
- Inventory Management: Keep detailed records of hardware installations, failures, repairs, and replacements, and manage inventory as needed.
- Technical Support: Provide technical assistance to users for hardware and software issues, and document solutions.
- Network Maintenance: Maintain wired and wireless network infrastructure and manage file servers.
- Essential Skills & Qualifications
- Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of computer hardware components, architecture, and networking concepts.
- Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and critical-thinking skills to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
- Software & OS Knowledge: Familiarity with various operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux) and common software applications.
- Communication: Ability to explain technical issues clearly to both technical and non-technical users.
