Prep Cook / Line Cook (Commis) – Pizza Kitchen

Queen Margherita’s Pizzeria – Andheri West, Mumbai

Queen Margherita’s Pizzeria is an award-winning Neapolitan pizza restaurant known for serious craft and uncompromising quality. Our kitchen runs on precision, speed, and pride in the food we serve.

We’re looking for prep cooks and line cooks who want to work in a professional pizza kitchen and grow their culinary skills.

Role Overview

You will support daily kitchen operations by preparing ingredients, maintaining mise en place, and assisting with pizza and pasta production during service.

You will work closely with the kitchen team to ensure consistency, speed, and cleanliness at all times.

Key ResponsibilitiesFood Preparation

• Prepare ingredients for daily service (vegetables, sauces, garnishes, dough portions)
• Maintain proper mise en place before service begins
• Assist with preparation of pizza toppings and pasta components

Kitchen Operations

• Support pizza and pasta production during service
• Follow recipes and portion standards
• Ensure all dishes are prepared consistently and quickly

Quality & Hygiene

• Maintain strict food safety and hygiene standards
• Ensure proper storage and labeling of ingredients
• Keep workstations clean and organized at all times

Teamwork

• Coordinate with chefs and fellow cooks during service
• Communicate stock shortages or prep requirements
• Support smooth kitchen workflow during peak hours
• Requirements1–3 years experience in a restaurant kitchen
• Experience in pizza, Italian, café, or fast-paced kitchens preferred
• Basic knife skills and food preparation knowledge
• Ability to work in a high-energy kitchen environment
• Willingness to learn and grow within the kitchen team
• Bonus Skills (Preferred but not mandatory)Experience with pizza ovens (wood fire or deck ovens)
• Experience with dough handling or pizza prep
• Experience working in high-volume restaurants
