Role: Automotive Designer (Exterior / Interior)

Department: Design & Styling

Reporting To: Head – Design / Creative Director

1. Job Purpose:-To conceptualize and create innovative, aesthetically appealing, and brand-aligned automotive designs by combining creative vision, design trends, and technical feasibility, ultimately contributing to the development of production cars, concept cars, and demonstrators.

• 2. Key Responsibilities & Deliverables Research & Ideation
• Conduct continuous research on global and local design trends in automotive, product, fashion, lifestyle, and technology.
• Understand brand & design vision, product concept, target customer, USP, vehicle architecture, and program scope.
• Concept Development
• Create multiple design concept sketches through freehand sketching and Photoshop illustrations.
• Develop 3D perspective sketches with clarity of form and detail for diverse audiences at different project stages.
• Design Direction & Development
• Provide design and art direction to digital modelers to resolve 3D volume and detail accuracy in digital form.
• Guide clay modelers to capture design intent in physical mock-ups with high precision.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate technical feasibility while retaining design integrity.
• Presentation & Communication
• Prepare and deliver high-quality design presentations to senior leadership and stakeholders at various project stages.
• Ensure clear communication of design intent across cross-functional teams.
• 3. Functional Competencies Strong freehand sketching and ideation skills.
• Expertise in Photoshop, Illustrator, Alias, Blender, or other design visualization tools.
• Understanding of 3D digital modeling and clay modeling processes.
• Knowledge of vehicle architecture, ergonomics, and production feasibility.
• Ability to balance aesthetic vision with engineering and commercial constraints.

• 5. Education & Experience Education: Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Transportation Design, Industrial Design, or related field.
• Experience: 3–8 years of experience in automotive design (exterior/interior), with a strong portfolio of production and concept projects.
