Driver Management & Development Manager

Job PurposeTo recruit, manage, train, and retain drivers, ensuring smooth daily operations, high service quality, and availability of trained drivers for government, corporate, and hotel contracts.

• Key Responsibilities1. Driver Recruitment & DevelopmentIdentify, source, and onboard new drivers through:

• Driver unions
• Referrals
• Online platforms and field sourcing
• Conduct preliminary screening:

• Driving license verification
• Background checks
• Experience validation
• Maintain a ready pool of standby drivers for immediate deployment.
• Develop long-term relationships with drivers to ensure loyalty and retention.
• 2. Driver Training & Skill DevelopmentTrain drivers on:
• 
  
• Company policies & discipline
• Client-specific requirements (Govt / Corporate / Hotel)
• Professional behavior, grooming & communication
• Safety, vehicle handling & route discipline
• Conduct refresher training for existing drivers.
• Educate drivers on penalties, logsheet discipline, and contract rules.
• 3. Driver Operations & Discipline ManagementEnsure drivers report on time and follow duty schedules.
• Monitor driver attendance, leaves, and replacements.
• Handle driver complaints, disputes, and operational issues.
• Enforce company discipline:

• Late reporting
• Misbehavior
• Contract violations
• Coordinate driver replacement in case of absence or misconduct.
• 4. Driver Performance MonitoringTrack driver performance based on:

• Client feedback
• Punctuality
• Vehicle handling
• Compliance with contract terms
• Maintain performance records and recommend incentives or penalties.
• Identify high-performing drivers for critical or premium contracts.
• 5. Compliance & DocumentationMaintain driver records including:

• Driving license
• Aadhaar / ID proof
• Police verification
• Medical fitness (if required)
• Ensure compliance with government & client regulations.
• Maintain updated driver database (Excel / System).
• 6. Coordination & ReportingCoordinate with:

• Fleet team
• Accounts team (penalties, advances, deductions)
• Client coordinators
• Prepare regular reports on:
• 
  
• Driver availability
• New driver onboarding
• Driver attrition
• Training conducted
• Required Skills & QualificationsMinimum 2–5 years experience in driver management / fleet operations.
• Strong fieldwork capability.
• Good communication & people management skills.
• Knowledge of local routes and driver ecosystem.
• Basic knowledge of Excel / WhatsApp / record keeping.
• Ability to handle pressure and emergency situations.
