Fashion Designer

We are seeking a talented and creative Fashion Designer to work closely with Designer Varuna Gupta, contributing to upcoming collections, custom pieces, and brand development. The role requires strong design capabilities with a deep sensitivity to Varuna’s aesthetic language.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in conceptualizing and developing independent capsule collections.

• Interpret and incorporate Varuna’s signature aesthetics while bringing fresh ideas.

• Design modern silhouettes with contemporary refinement.

• Work with unique textures, drapes, and interesting surface techniques.

• Create embroidery layouts, placements, and innovative surface detailing.

• Conduct market research, fabric sourcing, and moodboard building.

• Support sampling, fittings, pattern coordination, and production handovers.

• Work closely with masters, tailors, and karigars to translate design intent accurately.

• Maintain sketches, technical sheets, and style documentation.

Requirements

• Fashion design degree or relevant industry experience.

• Strong sketching & visualization skills (digital/hand).

• Deep understanding of garment construction and fabric behavior.

• Ability to drive designs independently from idea → sample → final garment.

• Tasteful sense of color, proportion, and balance.

• Strong follow-up skills during sample development and finishing.
