Instrument Technician

Instrument Technician (Offshore) will be responsible for installation, calibration, commissioning, troubleshooting, and preventive/breakdown maintenance of field instrumentation systems at offshore oil & gas facilities, including pressure, temperature, level and flow transmitters, control valves, ON/OFF valves, I/P converters, solenoid valves, switches, and analyzers. The role includes performing cold and hot loop checking, control valve stroke testing, signal verification (4–20 mA), and supporting PLC/DCS-based control systems during commissioning and start-up activities. The technician must be capable of reading and interpreting P&ID, instrument loop diagrams, wiring diagrams, and hook-up drawings, ensuring accurate installation and maintenance as per project requirements. The position requires strict adherence to offshore safety standards, PTW and LOTO procedures, and working in hazardous area zones using Ex-proof and intrinsically safe instruments. The technician shall maintain calibration records, assist project engineers and coordinators, attend emergency breakdowns, and ensure reliable operation of instrumentation systems for process packages such as test separators, metering skids, and associated equipment while working in rotational offshore shifts.
