Job Description

Position Overview: The Sales Development Manager will be responsible for leading a team of sales development representatives (SDRs) to generate and qualify new business opportunities. This role involves a mix of field and office work, including direct engagement with clients, strategic planning, team management, and performance analysis. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sales, exceptional leadership skills, and a proven track record of driving sales performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Team Leadership:

  • Manage and mentor a team of SDRs, providing guidance, training, and support to achieve sales goals.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and implement strategies to improve team productivity and effectiveness.
  • Foster a positive and motivating work environment that encourages high performance and professional growth.
  1. Sales Strategy and Planning:

  • Develop and implement sales strategies to identify and capture new business opportunities.
  • Analyze market trends and competitor activities to refine sales approaches and tactics.
  • Set clear sales targets and KPIs for the team, and track progress towards achieving these goals.
  1. Field Work:

  • Conduct client meetings, industry events, and networking activities to build and strengthen relationships with potential clients and partners.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities through direct engagement and market research.
  • Represent the company at trade shows, conferences, and other relevant industry events.
  1. Office Work:

  • Oversee the daily operations of the SDR team, including managing leads, tracking sales activities, and ensuring timely follow-up.
  • Collaborate with marketing and product teams to develop targeted campaigns and messaging.
  • Utilize CRM and other sales tools to monitor performance, analyze data, and generate reports.
  1. Performance Management:

  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of sales strategies and make data-driven adjustments as needed.
  • Provide regular feedback and coaching to SDRs to enhance their skills and performance.
  • Prepare and present sales reports to senior management, highlighting achievements, challenges, and recommendations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven experience in a sales development or similar role, with a track record of success in generating and qualifying leads.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain client relationships.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and other sales tools.
  • Ability to balance field and office responsibilities effectively.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a results-oriented mindset.
