Job Description

A security field officer is responsible for overseeing and managing security operations at various locations, ensuring compliance with security policies, and responding to incidents. They supervise security personnel, conduct site visits, and act as a liaison between management and on-site staff to maintain smooth and efficient operations. 


Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervising and Mentoring Security Staff:
  • This includes training, scheduling, and performance management of security personnel. 
  • Site Inspections and Patrols:
  • Regularly visiting and inspecting locations to ensure security protocols are followed and to identify potential vulnerabilities. 
  • Incident Response:
  • Investigating and responding to security breaches, accidents, suspicious activities, and other incidents, taking appropriate action as authorized. 
  • Surveillance and Monitoring:
  • Utilizing surveillance equipment, monitoring access points, and controlling traffic flow. 
  • Security Assessments:
  • Conducting risk assessments, business impact analyses, and security control evaluations. 
  • Policy and Procedure Development:
  • Creating, implementing, and updating security plans, policies, and procedures. 
  • Liaison and Communication:
  • Maintaining effective communication and relationships with clients, stakeholders, and other relevant parties. 
  • Reporting:
  • Preparing detailed daily and incident reports, including observations, footage, and other relevant information. 
  • Ensuring Compliance:
  • Enforcing security protocols, safety regulations, and other relevant standards. 
  • Emergency Response:
  • Developing and implementing emergency plans, including evacuation procedures, and coordinating with emergency services. 

Qualifications:

  • Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in security procedures and practices is often required.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills are essential.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in using security equipment and technology.
  • Knowledge of security risk management is often beneficial.
