Senior Full Stack .NET Azure Developer

Key Responsibilities

• Back-End & API Development (Azure-First)

o Design, build, and maintain scalable back-end services and REST APIs using Azure App Service, Azure Functions, and container-based Azure services.

o Implement secure and resilient integrations through Azure API Management, including routing, policies, authentication, and throttling.

o Build comprehensive error handling, logging, and observability using Azure Monitor, Application Insights, and Log Analytics.

o Ensure all services meet enterprise standards for security, scalability, and cloud-native architecture.

•Integration & Data Flow Engineering

o Collaborate with Data Engineers to design and implement data-driven API integrations, ensuring payloads, mappings, and behaviours meet requirements.

o Integrate with internal and external systems using Azure-native authentication mechanisms such as Managed Identity and Azure AD.

o Develop reliable, asynchronous integrations using Azure messaging services (Service Bus, Event Grid) where appropriate.

o Validate end-to-end integration flows, ensuring data is correctly processed, transformed, and persisted.

• Collaboration with Data Engineering

o Translate data mapping and integration specifications into API logic and back-end processing.

o Maintain clear boundaries between API and data layers in line with Azure design patterns.

o Support data pipeline testing by providing API mocks, triggers, and back-end interfaces.

• Cloud, DevOps & Deployment (Azure DevOps)

o Build and maintain modern CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps.

o Support infrastructure-as-code deployments with Bicep, Terraform, or ARM templates.

o Deploy and manage services across Azure environments, including:

▪ Azure App Service

▪ Azure Functions

▪ Azure API Management

▪ Azure Key Vault

▪ Azure Storage / ADLS

▪ Azure Monitor & Application Insights

o Troubleshoot and resolve issues using Azure-native diagnostics and monitoring tools.

• Monitoring, Reliability & Operational Readiness

o Implement health checks, telemetry, and operational dashboards using Application Insights, Azure Dashboards, and Log Analytics Workbooks.

o Configure Azure-native monitoring solutions or build lightweight operational interfaces where required.

o Ensure solutions meet non-functional requirements such as resilience, performance, security, and auditability.

• Engineering Quality & Delivery

o Write clean, secure, and maintainable code following engineering best practices.

o Participate in architecture reviews, design discussions, code reviews, and knowledge sharing.

o Collaborate with product owners, analysts, and operations teams to refine requirements and improve platform design.

Skills & Experience

• Essential

o Strong back-end development experience using C# .NET, Node.js, or similar server-side technologies.

o Proven experience building and integrating REST APIs on Azure App Service or Azure Functions.

o Strong hands-on experience with Azure API Management, including policies, routing, and authentication.

o Solid understanding of Azure identity and security, including Managed Identity and Azure AD.

o Experience with SQL and relational databases, including Azure SQL or cloud-hosted equivalents.

o Knowledge of distributed systems, asynchronous processing, and event-driven architectures.

o Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git workflows, and Azure DevOps.

o Hands-on experience with Application Insights, Log Analytics, and Azure Monitor.

o Strong collaboration skills, particularly when working with data engineering and platform teams.

• Desirable

o Experience with Azure messaging services such as Service Bus, Event Grid, or Event Hub.

o Exposure to infrastructure-as-code tools (Bicep, Terraform, ARM).

o Familiarity with React or similar front-end frameworks for internal tools or dashboards.

o Experience building operational dashboards or service health interfaces.

• Background in financial services, fraud, AML, or financial crime platforms.
