Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Direct Tax Consultant to join our dynamic taxation team. The ideal candidate will have comprehensive knowledge and experience in the preparation and filing of income tax returns, finalization of books of accounts, and filing of TDS returns. The role also involves managing and resolving client queries related to taxation. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with strong analytical skills and a thorough understanding of tax laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Income Tax Return Preparation and Filing:

• Prepare and file accurate and timely income tax returns for individuals, businesses, and other entities.
• Ensure compliance with relevant tax laws and regulations.
• Review financial records, income statements, and expenditure documents to determine tax liability.

1. Finalization of Books of Accounts:

• Oversee the finalization of accounts for clients, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Perform reconciliations and ensure all financial data is accurately recorded and reported.
• Collaborate with accounting teams to ensure proper maintenance of books of accounts.

1. TDS Returns Filing:

• Prepare and file TDS (Tax Deducted at Source) returns in compliance with statutory requirements.
• Ensure accurate calculation and timely payment of TDS.
• Maintain records and documentation related to TDS transactions.

1. Client Query Management:

• Address and resolve queries from clients regarding their tax matters.
• Provide tax planning advice and support to clients to optimize their tax positions.
• Maintain strong relationships with clients and ensure high levels of client satisfaction.

1. Compliance and Advisory:

• Keep abreast of changes in tax laws and regulations and ensure compliance.
• Provide expert advice on direct tax matters and assist clients in making informed tax decisions.
• Participate in tax audits and liaise with tax authorities as required.

1. Documentation and Reporting:

• Prepare and maintain detailed documentation for all tax-related activities.
• Generate reports and summaries for internal and client use.
• Ensure accurate and up-to-date records of all tax filings and transactions.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Proven experience (1+ years) in direct tax consulting, with a focus on income tax return preparation and filing, finalization of accounts, and TDS returns filing.
• Strong knowledge of tax laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.
• Proficiency in accounting software and tax filing tools.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines efficiently.
• High level of integrity and attention to detail.
