TENDER & ESTIMATION CIVIL ENGINEER

A Tender and Estimation Engineer analyzes project specifications, drawings, and BOQs (Bill of Quantities) to prepare accurate cost estimates, technical proposals, and commercial bids. They coordinate with vendors, negotiate rates, ensure tender compliance, and submit bids within deadlines, requiring strong skills in AutoCAD, Excel, and technical knowledge. 

Key Responsibilities

• Tender Analysis: Thoroughly review tender documents, technical drawings, and specifications to understand project scope.
• Estimation & BoQ: Prepare detailed cost estimates, including labor, material, equipment, and overheads.
• Commercial & Technical Bids: Compile comprehensive tender documents, including pre-qualification, technical proposals, and commercial bids.
• Vendor Coordination: Float inquiries to vendors/subcontractors, collect quotes, and prepare comparative statements.
• Negotiation & Compliance: Negotiate with suppliers for competitive pricing and ensure submissions comply with industry standards.
• Market Intelligence: Maintain updated knowledge of market rates and material costs. 

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
• Experience: 1–5+ years in tender/estimation, specifically within construction, civil, or infrastructure sectors.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, AutoCAD, and specialized estimation software.
• Soft Skills: Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet strict deadlines. 

Typical Qualifications & Experience

• Experience Range: Commonly 1–10 years depending on seniority (e.g., Engineer vs. Manager).
• Key Softwares: MS Office, AutoCAD, ERP systems, estimation software.
