Business Development Manager (BDM)

Key Responsibilities

• Identify Specialty Distributors: Recruit partners with existing routes in dairy, bakery, or fresh produce.
• Territory Mapping: Divide urban and suburban clusters to ensure maximum reach while maintaining logistics efficiency.
• Secondary Sales Focus: Work closely with distributor salesmen to ensure the product moves from the distributor’s warehouse to retail shelves.
• Sampling: Organize in-store or apartment-complex sampling drives to build consumer trust in the product.
• Product Placement: Ensure high visibility for savouries at checkout counters and prominent shelf space for batter in the dairy/chiller section.
• Returns & Expiry Management: Implement strict "First-In, First-Out" (FIFO) practices and manage the high-frequency return cycles typical of fresh batter.
• Margin & Scheme: Develop attractive trade schemes for distributors during festivals or peak seasons.

 Qualifications & Experience

• 4–7 years in FMCG Channel Sales, specifically within the Fresh Foods, Dairy, or Snacks industry.
• Deep understanding of the local retail landscape, including key wholesale hubs and high-volume retail clusters.
• Familiarity with the challenges of distributing short-shelf-life products (3–7 days).
• Strong negotiation skills for managing distributor margins and credit terms.
